8th-Dec-2007 05:58 pm - thanks
cute
Last week was officially my first hell week for this semester (I'm sure there will be more to come), but thanks to some people, my week turned out to be okay.

People in the Healthsci Study Room

Usually, the department becomes my haven whenever I feel super harassed. Salamat sa mga kumakausap sa'kin! It really means a lot to me.

Bossing Marian
We should hangout more often! Weeeee.. Marami tayong napag-uusapan na makabuluhang bagay. Try natin next time yung sinasabi ni Doc Sio na place near KFC.

Sophs

Awwww.. Thanks for the super fun orgchem review session! Even though I was exhausted because of the Sumilao med mission, you still managed to cheer me up. And can I just say na ang sasabaw niyo! Ahahah.. (Aneka, your picture will forever be remembered).

Pia Creencia, Anna, Carlo and Teej
I really felt like crap after my orgchem exam last thursday. Good thing you guys were there! I felt a lot better after that. Must have laughed all the crap out of me!

(Pia, sana lang di ako matawa pag nakita ko si Doc Wong aka Johnny/Jonjon! Hahaha.)
1st-Dec-2007 06:01 pm - Thesis Insights
cute

I attended Dr. John’s class this afternoon on the methodology of Cost-Effectiveness studies. Our thesis is not exactly a cost-effectiveness study, but I thought it would be relevant for my minoring. At the end of the lecture, my blockmates started to ask about the “formalities”. When is the proposal defense? Are we going to be graded? What will happen if we screw up during the defense?  And damn, the consequences of screwing up are really nasty!

This means that I should start taking thesis more seriously! It’s not like I haven’t been working or anything. It’s just that until now, I’m not yet in full career mode when apparently, I should have been ages ago! I’m scared half-to-death:

  1. To be caught unprepared during the defense.
  2. To disappoint our thesis adviser (Dr. Yap has been very helpful and supportive, and I guess we really owe her a good thesis.)
  3. To disappoint my groupmates (Mikeness, KPlish and Keeshness are the best groupmates ever!)
  4. Not to get funding!  o_O

It’s time to work, work, and work. Must put self in career mode from now on!

This semester is love!

- DS with Sir Leland *kilig*
- Epidemiology with Dr. John

So far, these two subjects have been making my Tuesdays and Thursdays exciting and magical (borrow muna mikeness)! Well, I really don't have much to say. I'm just letting you know that I'm back!
7th-Jun-2007 03:01 pm - I'm Back
cute
Hello everyone!
I'm back (after one million years of not updating).
Here's a recap of what happened to me during the past few months.

Acads
Hi166 and Spanish were the shiz! I enjoyed them, despite all the sleepless nights. By the way, to those who are about to take Hi166, go for Dr. Hofileña. She's the best, believe me. No doubt, you'll have to read and study for her class (walang tulugan kapag exam na) o_O but it's all worth it. You'll enjoy her lectures and definitely learn a lot, plus she's really good (very knowledgeable and fair, and also takes time to memorize students' names, etc). Philippine History will never be the same.

Tuve mucha suerte con mis profesoras, porque fueron muy majas e inteligentes! Muchas gracias Señorita Alunan y Señora Hofileña. Hicisteis el verano muy especial.. Also, thanks to my healthsci lunch buddies.

Healthsci Stuff
Weekly council meetings and the feeding program ate up most of my summer. Then again, it's really my passion to get involved in activities like these. It feels good to contribute something to the course, and better when I get to help people. During the anthropometrics sessions, I realized that the children and parents need our help. Hitsura pa lang, kitang-kitang malnourished sila!!! There really is a need to make health more accessible to these people. That's why I don't mind getting tired and all.

Org Stuff (MISA)
A great start for a great year. We already accomplished some projects like the Computer Exposure, a tie-up with ANI. The officers seem to be very competitive (hahah.. marvs) and energetic as well. I'm really thrilled!

Fackers' Night-Outs
I love you Fackers! Summer wouldn't have been as colorful without you guys. Thanks for the dinners, random trips, inuman sessions, and many more. Hahahah..

So there..
Shocks, here we go again. My schedule this sem's really tough. 8 hours of lab every Thursday (kamusta naman 'yon diba?) plus Saturday classes. Gaahhhd. Please pray for me! Hahah..

These lines are very loaded, trust me. Hahah

Save me, Clark
and take me to Mars,
the Land of dreams.

4) i get to bum around all day (without feeling guilty. hahah!)

and of course, i get to spend quality time with my family and friends! i missed them so much!
too bad this vacation's so short. bitin talaga.. so kailangan talagang sulitin!
